Candidates must score at least 50% marks in their 10+2 board examinations (40% for reserved category) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Maths as compulsory subjects. Alternatively, candidates who are Diploma Holders in Science stream, or have cleared a pre-medical or pre-dental course after 10+2 with the above-mentioned subjects are also eligible to apply. B. Admissions to the BDS course are based on the guidelines specified by the KUHS. Candidates must appear for NEET UG exams to gain admission.

Applications can be submitted online by registering and logging onto the official website. Candidates must submit the form in person or send a print-out of the duly filled form along with a demand draft of INR 1,000 drawn in favour of Alazhar Dental College, payable at Thodupuzha. NEET UG scores are shared by CBSE with various state universities including KUHS which then publishes a merit list. Candidates who have applied at Al Azhar can view and make corrections (if required) in the form submitted after the college publishes the details of each application on its website. Final selection is done on the basis of a candidate’s scores in the qualifying exam and NEET UG scores, which are considered on a 50:50 ratio.
